Lesley Blair

Receptionist

Lesley joined the dental profession in 1987, beginning her career as a dental nurse in the practice. At the time, she admits she simply took the job because it was close to home, but it quickly became a career she has loved ever since.

After seven years of nursing, Lesley moved onto reception when the opportunity arose. Over the years she has become a familiar and friendly face at the front desk, meeting and chatting with patients of all ages. She enjoys getting to know people and hearing what is happening in their lives, something she feels is one of the nicest parts of her role.

Having worked in dentistry for decades, Lesley has seen many changes, from paper files and large appointment diaries to full computerisation, something she once dreaded but now handles with ease. She has also witnessed huge advances in patient care, from improved decontamination standards to modern techniques such as pain free injections and sedation that help make visits far more comfortable.

Lesley loves the atmosphere at Coatbridge Family Dental Care and values the relationships she has built with both colleagues and patients over the years. She is always happy to chat at reception and is particularly good at putting nervous patients at ease.

Outside of work, Lesley enjoys reading, walking, cycling and spending weekends in her caravan.
