I don’t really know what drew me towards dentistry as a career, but whatever it was I’m delighted that it did. I am really fortunate to say that I love my job.

For me it’s much more than just teeth (and implants); it’s about people. From the new patients that I am getting to know, to the regular patients that I catch up with every six months, as well as the fantastic team I have around me here in the practice; it is the people that make my job as rewarding and enjoyable as it is.

I graduated in 2001 and took over Coatbridge Family Dental Care in 2009. Since then, as a practice, we have worked tirelessly to create an environment where we can deliver fantastic results to our patients. On a personal level I have been involved in the training of newly qualified dentists: providing mentoring advice and support in the early stages of their careers. I have also continued to develop new clinical skills, enabling me to increase the range and quality of treatments I can offer. This includes Invisalign tooth alignment, smile makeovers, as well as dental implant treatment. In 2019 I was awarded a Diploma in Implant Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons in England.

Away from dentistry I love spending time with my wife and 2 girls, Rachel and Chloe (although as they get older, I’m not so sure they would say the same!). Family holidays are always fun and something I look forward to. And when it gets too much, I take myself off for a wee run, even managing to complete the odd marathon or half-marathon. I like the time away from devices and interruption that running gives me. The only run you regret is the one you didn’t do!
