Growing up, I think I changed my desired career path on a weekly basis! I wanted to be everything from a teacher, to an accountant and I even thought about becoming an engineer!

By the time I was about 15, I had ruled out most of these career options and decided I wanted a job where I could really help people and hopefully make a difference to their lives in some way. Still unsure which path to follow, it was actually my own dentist who suggested I consider a career in dentistry. I took him up on his offer and completed a week of work experience in his practice and I haven’t looked back since!

I really enjoy my job and I honestly can’t imagine myself in any other career path. What I enjoy most about my job is my ability to transform smiles. I don’t think there is any greater job satisfaction than having a patient, who was previously embarrassed by their teeth, leave my surgery with a massive smile on their face!

The main think I love about CFDC is our fantastic team! Our nurses and reception staff are amazing – without their help and commitment in their role, I really couldn’t do my job. As a whole, we are a very supportive team – Keith and Gillian have been great in supporting me through my current training in sedation dentistry.

As I said above, I recently embarked on training to become a sedation-qualified dentist. This has been a goal of mine since I graduated from Uni and I am so pleased that I have now achieved this.
I have recently enrolled in a course with Invisalign as I have always had a keen interest in orthodontics and wanted to learn more and become involved with the element of dentistry.
In the future, I would like to complete more courses in restorative dentistry to further improve my skills and I am considering training in facial aesthetics.

In my spare time I enjoy going to the gym or fitness classes. I am also a Brownie leader and have been involved with Girl guiding since I was 5. I enjoy reading and I love to travel and see different parts of the world. However, socialising with friends and family takes up a large part of my spare time – my patients all know how much I love to chat!
