Dental Membership Plans: The 10 Benefits That Your Dentist Wants You to Know

At Coatbridge Family Dental Care we care about you and your smile. So, we’ve developed affordable dental membership plans to give you guaranteed access to regular, high quality dental care.

Why do we need dental membership plans?

If you’ve tried to make an appointment with an NHS dentist recently, you’ll know that it isn’t easy. There is a crisis in NHS dentistry due to rising costs, combined with a lack of government funding. Long-standing shortages of dentists and dental nurses are making the problem worse.

This means that early signs of decay and oral cancers are not being picked up at routine check ups. These delays in treatment mean higher costs and worse outcomes for patients , according to the British Dental Association.

This crisis is also putting undue pressure on our hospitals. 67,000 people presented to A&E last year with a dental abscess or tooth decay, according to a Freedom of Information request from the Labour Party.

NHS dentistry in Scotland may be in dire straits, but all is not lost, because high quality private dental care is cheaper than you might think. At Coatbridge Family Dental Care, we’ve created membership plans which give you access to affordable, regular dental care. These plans have a focus on prevention to keep you and your mouth as healthy as possible.

The 10 benefits your dentist wants you to know about dental membership plans

1. Saves money and helps you budget

One of the biggest benefits of our membership plan is that it can help you to save money. Our membership fees are cheaper than our private pay-as-you go fees.

Spreading the cost of your dental health checks and hygiene appointments over the course of a year, also makes them much easier to budget for. Paying a fixed monthly amount means that you don’t have to worry about how much your dental health check and hygiene appointment is every time you come to see us.

2. Improves your dental health and wellbeing

Because our membership plans include regular dental health checks and hygiene appointments, you can be confident that we will help you to keep your mouth as healthy as it can be.

This also means that any issues in your mouth will be picked up as early as possible and fixed before they become a big (and expensive) problem.

3. Guaranteed and priority access to care

As a member of our dental plan you are guaranteed to have all your dental health checks and hygiene appointments regularly every year. In fact, if it works for you, you will leave with your next appointment already booked every time you visit.

We also reserve priority slots in our diaries for our members, which means no more long waits for appointments.

4. More time for you

One of the main reasons we introduced a membership plan is because we wanted to spend longer with our patients. Working under the NHS doesn’t allow for that.

It’s important for us to be able to take the time to listen to what you want, help you to be as healthy as possible and give you the best care and advice we can. We like to get to know our patients – it’s one of the best ways to help keep you healthy and ensure you get the best results from your treatment.

5. Access to better materials, techniques and treatments

Our membership plan patients have access to all the latest materials which give the most natural looking results. We also use up-to-the minute techniques and treatments, such as pain free injections, digital smile design, 3D printing, Invisalign and dental implants, which are not available on the NHS.

6. Exclusive member-only rates on treatment and sundries

Members of our plan enjoy exclusive member-only rates on most of our treatments. This includes teeth whitening, white fillings, veneers, crowns and implant restorations. As well as our fantastic Sylc treatment to help your sensitive teeth.

Our member-only rates also extend to oral health care products such as toothbrushes and interdental cleaning aids.

7. No wait for approval

If you need or want  treatment then we can get on with it (assuming it’s the right treatment for you). There is no need to have approval like there is for larger NHS treatment plans, which can often delay treatment by several months.

8. Emergency care

All our membership plan patients receive a dedicated emergency hotline number. This allows you to receive out of hours advice from one of our dedicated team of dentists.

9. Global Dental Accident and Emergency Assistance Scheme

Our membership plan includes access to a Global Dental Accident and Emergency Assistance Scheme. The Scheme offers global support to patients who need treatment following an accident a dental emergency or who are diagnosed with mouth cancer.*

10. Peace of mind

Last, and most important of all, being a member of our dental plan gives you peace of mind. Regular check ups mean any problems in your mouth are found early. Monthly payments spread your maintenance costs throughout the year. Priority access to appointments mean no more long waits for treatment.  Access to emergency care at home and abroad* is available for you.

We have also recently introduced new Implant Care Plans for our patients who have dental implants. Membership ensures your dental implants are well looked after. An optional implant warranty bolt-on gives peace of mind if anything should happen to your implants.
